Abama beach is a small cove of golden sand and calm turquoise and light blue waters, located at the mouth of a ravine, in the municipality of Guía de Isora, in the south of Tenerife.
The beach has a breakwater to keep its waters calm. Next to the beach there is a small pier with easily accessible stairs if you prefer to swim in the open sea.
The environment is unique. Around the ravine in which the beach is located, there are various banana plantations. It is an ideal place to enjoy beautiful sunsets with views of the island of La Gomera on the horizon.
To access the beach you have to go down the slope of the ravine by a flight of somewhat steep stairs. It is recommended to wear suitable footwear. Next to the access stairs you can also see a small funicular, but it has been enabled by The Ritz-Carlton Abama hotel and is for the exclusive use of its clients.

How to get to Abama Beach?
If you go by car, you must park it in a public car park in the vicinity of The Ritz-Carlton Abama hotel. From there starts a paved road with a slight slope that you will have to walk for about 10 minutes, after which you will arrive at the starting point of the stairs that lead to the bottom of the ravine and to the beach.
Another option is to take the bus, line 473, which goes from Los Cristianos to Los Gigantes. Near the hotel you can find a bus stop where this line passes.
If you do not have your own or a rental vehicle, the fastest and most comfortable option is to have a taxi, which could go down the paved road that goes down to the beach and leave you right next to it. In this way you avoid the descent down the steep access stairs.
